Infection Prevention Specialist

The Infection Prevention Practitioner is a key member of the MultiCare Health System team, responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Infection Prevention Program. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interpret and analyze data related to infection control surveillance, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures
- Conduct surveillance and analysis of infection control data
- Provide education and training to staff on infection control practices
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and address infection control issues
- Stay up-to-date with the latest infection control guidelines and best practices
- BS, MT(ASCP) with a focus in microbiology
- Master in Public Health, Environmental Health or other related degree
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) (preferred) or attainment of certification within two (2) years of hire
- Must be CIH certified or certification eligible or attain certification within six (6) months of hire
- Experience in Infection Prevention and Control preferred
- Experience with health care construction
- Experience with ventilation, air sampling, PPE, surveillance, and epidemiology
