Position Overview:

The Loss Prevention team at Uniqlo is dedicated to ensuring a secure shopping atmosphere for both customers and staff. The Security and Loss Prevention Specialist plays a vital role in managing inventory and minimizing losses. Daily responsibilities include prioritizing safety, overseeing inventory management, and reducing shortages. This position reports to the Loss Prevention Manager and Store Manager, serving as a key resource for safety and protection within our stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educate store personnel on loss prevention and safety protocols, ensuring adherence and reporting any infractions to management.
  • Empower the loss prevention team to effectively identify, apprehend, and detain shoplifters in accordance with company policies.
  • Foster strong relationships with store leadership and associates.
  • Lead initiatives to raise awareness among associates and generate leads for internal investigations.
  • Emphasize the significance of proper inventory management, investigate discrepancies, and train the team on correct procedures.
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with shortage reduction strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance the loss prevention culture.
  • Work alongside the Loss Prevention Manager to uphold company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct store visits to assess compliance with safety policies and provide training to address identified opportunities.
  • Identify potential safety or loss risks and promptly inform management to avert incidents.
  • Assist loss prevention management with audits and inventory counts.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Support special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in computer applications, including security software, CCTV systems, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Knowledge of surveillance and security equipment and installations.
  • Willingness to travel to various store locations as needed.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on the sales floor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills with customers and store staff.
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts and percentages.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long durations, read computer screens, and move objects weighing at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to navigate the sales floor and stockroom, including repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, and climbing.

Schedule Requirements:

Flexibility to work a schedule that meets business needs, including evenings and weekends.
