Job SummaryThe Infection Prevention Practitioner is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of the MultiCare Health System Infection Prevention Program. This position requires independent decision-making and analytical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities- Develop, analyze, and interpret information relating to infection control surveillance, policies, procedures, staff education, practices, and regulatory mandates.
- Assist in the development and implementation of infection prevention policies and procedures.
- Conduct surveillance and monitoring of infection control practices.
- Provide education and training to staff on infection control practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and address infection control issues.
- BS, MT(ASCP) with a focus in microbiology.
- Master in Public Health, Environmental Health, or other related degree.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or attainment of certification within two years of hire.
- Must be CIH certified or certification eligible or attain certification within six months of hire.
- Experience in Infection Prevention and Control preferred.
- Experience with healthcare construction, ventilation, air sampling, PPE, surveillance, and epidemiology.
