Job Summary

InsideHigherEd is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Instructors to join our team. As a part-time Adjunct Instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach and mentor students in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses, including day, night, and online classes, at our main campus and extension centers.
  • Establish and promote an effective learning environment that maximizes student learning.
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain reports related to student learning.
  • Grade assignments in a meaningful way and return graded assignments to students in a timely manner.
  • Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled office hours or by appointment.
  • Encourage student opinion survey completion for each class and review summary information to assist with increasing student success.
  • Maintain levels of professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in music or 18 credits in the specific discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations representing a wide range of abilities, ages, nationalities, and cultures.
  • Experience with instructional technology preferred.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule.
  • Commitment to student success and the comprehensive community college concept.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to access and use electronic resources, including the college's integrated database record keeping system.
