We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at OhioGuidestone. As a leading provider of community behavioral health care, we are dedicated to empowering individuals to take control of their mental health and well-being.

About the Role

This is a full/part-time position working weekend shifts and night shifts. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will be responsible for providing prevention services, mental health treatment, and substance use treatment to individuals in need. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, coordinate community resources, and provide crisis intervention consultation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor client symptoms and response to treatment, communicating changes with the treatment team to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and maintain a service relationship with clients, families, and caregivers to provide support as needed.
  • Coordinate community resources, including school, referral sources, and outpatient behavioral health providers, to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide crisis intervention consultation in times of emergencies, coordinating and assisting in crisis management and stabilization as needed.
  • Facilitate appointments to ensure overall physical well-being, including basic, mental health, and substance use needs.
  • Review diagnostic evaluations and additional assessments to aid in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Attend and participate in agency/team/clinical meetings, including mandatory trainings, and treatment coordination.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of relevant experience and ability to demonstrate competencies in basic behavioral health skills.
  • Relevant experience or course of study in behavioral healthcare is helpful.
  • Mission-driven, with a strong desire to make an impact.
  • Ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and good professional judgment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak effectively with individuals and/or groups of people.
  • Flexible, with the ability to work days, evenings, and/or weekends as needed to meet client needs.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities with strict attention to detail and perform work independently.
  • Ability to maintain relevant, timely documentation as required.
  • Computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records.
