Job Title: Behavior Technician

Job Summary:

Lancaster City Schools is seeking highly qualified and experienced professionals to fill the role of Behavior Technician. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting students with autism and related developmental disabilities in a home, school, or clinical setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols to students with autism and related developmental disabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized behavior plans.
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and develop strategies to reduce problem behaviors.
  • Provide direct support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and community-based settings.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to develop and implement behavior plans that support student success.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in behavior intervention and support.

Requirements:

  • Holds or is eligible to obtain full ODE licensure and/or an Ohio aide permit.
  • Has completed a minimum of one year of successful experience in working directly with children with autism and related developmental disabilities in a home, school, or clinical setting.
  • High School Diploma required. Any college coursework in behavioral sciences, psychology, special education, human development, or a related field preferred.
  • Possesses experience in providing skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks.
  • Possesses a valid Ohio driver's license.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to changing circumstances. The Behavior Technician will be required to work in a variety of settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and community-based settings.
