Job Summary

As a Senior Mechanical Project Manager at University Mechanical Contractors, Inc. (UMC), you will be responsible for developing and managing mechanical construction projects through effective communication, client relations, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, subcontracts, and forecasting of costs and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities in line with the company's strategy and long-term goals.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Create project plans that identify resource and budgetary needs.
• Develop conceptual estimates at an early stage in the project.
• Accurately maintain and update the budget throughout preconstruction.
• Communicate and turn over complete, detailed estimates to the construction team.
• Perform construction feasibility studies on third-party designs.
• Consult with clients on the design of their facility, facilitating the design process throughout preconstruction, resulting in a budget-based design that meets the client's needs.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
• Estimate jobs and prepare project budgets.
• Estimate, negotiate, and process change orders into project financials.
• Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs.
• Buyout major equipment and subcontracts.
• Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials.
• Maintain working knowledge of general conditions, work scope, and specifications of project contract/subcontract.
• Maintain and control documents in compliance with UMC Standards as well as contractual compliance.
• Supervise Project Managers, Project Engineers, and General Superintendents.

Requirements

• A minimum of ten years of experience as a mechanical project manager.
• Construction Management or Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering degree desired.
• Maintain a valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
