Job Title: Firmware Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our team at Protingent. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing firmware for various consumer products, including headsets and communication devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement firmware solutions for audio products, including headsets and communication devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions.
  • Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications to ensure timely and accurate implementation.
  • Implement system software and customize to client requirements, ensuring high-quality and reliable performance.
  • Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans to ensure thorough testing and validation.
  • Code new programs to client specifications and create test data for testing, ensuring efficient and effective testing processes.
  • Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs, ensuring seamless integration and compatibility.
  • Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation, ensuring smooth transition and deployment.
  • Provide quality assurance reviews to ensure high-quality and reliable software solutions.
  • Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with audio products and Qualcomm chipsets is highly valued.
  • Experience with Qualcomm audio chipsets and tools is desired.
  • Should have experience in the development of firmware to support acoustic solutions built around headset microphones and speakers.
  • Test development experience with Audio Precision or dScope III is highly valued.
  • Acoustic test experience using B&K head and shoulder simulator or similar is desired.
  • DSP development experience is highly valued.
  • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design is essential.
  • Large systems software design and development experience is highly valued.
  • Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems is desired.
  • Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution is essential.
