We are seeking an experienced Ironworker Foreman to oversee operations in the field. This role is essential for ensuring the successful execution of structural steel projects.
Compensation: $45 per hour plus per diem for travel-related expenses.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate the activities of journeyman ironworkers.
- Set up and operate hoisting equipment for lifting and positioning structural steel components.
- Utilize basic rigging techniques to secure steel members during installation.
- Signal operators of hoisting equipment to facilitate the safe placement of steel members.
- Guide steel members into position using tag lines.
- Assist in adjusting steel members into final positions using various tools.
- Align bolt holes in steel components and ensure proper vertical and horizontal alignment.
- Perform cutting and welding tasks to modify steel structures as needed.
- Manage the loading, transportation, and unloading of materials and equipment.
- Assist in securing materials during installation processes.
- Conduct minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and project guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work within precise standards and tolerances.
- Proficient in applying mathematical concepts to resolve issues.
- Capability to plan work and select appropriate tools for tasks.
- Skilled in recognizing differences in size, shape, and form of objects.
- Adept at visualizing solid objects from technical drawings.
- Competent in evaluating information against measurable standards.
The physical requirements for this position include regular communication, frequent sitting, and the use of hands for handling tools and materials. Occasional standing, walking, climbing, and bending may be necessary. The role requires the ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with relevant experience in the field. Familiarity with industry practices and procedures is essential. The position involves working under direct supervision, with primary functions not requiring independent judgment.
