Job Description

• The Shop Foreman will be responsible for driving the production of structural steel and miscellaneous projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability.

• These projects can range from structural beams to stairways and handrails to miscellaneous orders such as hoppers, tanks, enclosures, panels, etc.

• This is a working foreman position with responsibilities in welding, fabrication, quality control, and other needed areas.

• Additional duties include scheduling, performance monitoring and reviews, disciplinary action, and driving productivity.

• Strong management skills, including written and verbal communication and conflict resolution, are very important.

Hard Skills

• Welding and fabrication of structural steel and miscellaneous metals, such as stairs, rails, catwalks
• Supervising a team of at least 10 shop workers, including machine operators, welders, fabricators, quality control and general laborers
• Management of schedules, budgets, performance, etc.

Soft Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication
• Conflict resolution
• Team management

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Modesto, California.

Work Environment

Metal fabrication shop with open-air doors. Temperatures will be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Dirty/dusty, loud industrial manufacturing environment. Shift Information: Monday - Friday (weekends as needed, likely half day Saturday) 7 AM - 3:30 PM, with overtime as needed.
