Job Summary:

The Credentialing Specialist provides support for the Medical Staff Services department at Baptist Health Care. This role involves performing confidential administrative and credentialing functions for the Medical Staff, ensuring applications and supporting documents are up-to-date and current.

Under the direction of the Medical Staff Manager, the successful candidate will initiate and follow through on the appointment/change in status process for medical staff and allied health professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Medical Staff Services department with administrative and credentialing tasks
  • Initiate and follow through on appointment/change in status process for medical staff and allied health professionals
  • Ensure applications and supporting documents are up-to-date and current
  • Work under general supervision, with flexibility to work various shifts and be subject to over 40 hours per week

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree required, some college preferred
  • Experience in a healthcare-related field preferred
  • Proficiency in word processing, Excel, and database system updating
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, federal, and state regulations
