Orthopedic Trauma Nurse

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at LewisGale Medical Center, you will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the hospital. You will work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient's needs, coordinating unit activities and ensuring accountability of all assigned tasks.
Responsibilities- Instruct and educate patients and family members on various aspects of care.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Licensed or license eligible, as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Board of Health Professions.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
