Sign Language Interpreter Position

Soliant is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings.
The ideal candidate will have certification in sign language interpretation and experience in educational interpreting. They will be proficient in American Sign Language and knowledgeable about Deaf culture.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language and vice versa in educational settings.
- Support students in understanding academic content and participating in school activities.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Adapt interpreting methods to meet the needs and preferences of individual students.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:
- Certification in sign language interpretation.
- Experience in educational interpreting preferred.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and knowledge of Deaf culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and staff.
