Job Title: CDLA Book Fair Delivery Driver

We are seeking a reliable and skilled CDLA Book Fair Delivery Driver to join our team at Scholastic Book Fairs. As a CDLA Book Fair Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and picking up book fairs at schools across the country.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and pick up book fairs at schools, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Inspect and prepare the fifth wheel before coupling.
  • Utilize a semi-tractor with a 48' or 53' trailer to line haul fairs from the branch facility to the hub location.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers safely and in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the supervisor to ensure customer service standards are maintained.
  • Load and unload trucks with or without assistance of mechanical devices.
  • Effectively communicate routing problems to the supervisor.
  • Deliver and pick up product from schools, as scheduled, in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Secure and transport products to ensure a damage-free fair.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the motor vehicle.
  • Complete and maintain accurate and legible records, including DOT logs, trip sheets, fuel tickets, and road expenses.
  • Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Valid CDL A license with air brake endorsement.
  • Verifiable commercial driving experience of at least one year.
  • Minimum of twenty-one years of age.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and push, pull, lift, and handle metal/plastic cases weighing more than 350lbs on a regular and repetitive basis.
  • Customer service orientated.
  • Ability to read road maps and follow directions.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Strong team player and ability to get along with co-workers.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to read.
