Nurse Practitioner

As a Perianesthesia Nurse with Surgery Partners, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in the pre-operative and post-operative settings. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, you will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Directing and/or providing professional nursing care for assigned patients across the age continuum
- Utilizing the nursing process to direct or provide nursing care in the Pre-Post operative setting
- May serve as Charge nurse, providing supervision and guidance to other members of the PACU or pre-operative staff
- Demonstrating ability to float to other patient care areas as needed
- Taking call for weekdays, weekends, and holidays as assigned on a rotating basis
May be expected to lift up to 50 pounds or up to 150 pounds with assistance. May be expected to push or pull 500 pounds with assistance. Work is of medium demand; walking or standing most of the time while on duty. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required.
May be subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations, and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions needed to be taken is essential.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Ability:- Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Texas
- Must have BLS and renew every 2 years prior to expiration
- ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of employment or sooner if covering call or conscious sedation and renew both every 2 years prior to expiration
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement
- Previous PACU, ambulatory care, critical care, or general nursing experience is preferred
- Is aware of professional nursing standards and performs in accordance with them
