Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional provides essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This role involves performing light to medium maintenance and domestic functions, including personal care, cleaning, laundry, cooking, and grocery shopping. The ideal candidate will maintain positive relationships with individuals served, families, and colleagues, and assist in implementing individual support plans based on assessments, objectives, and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individual support plans to promote the well-being and independence of individuals served
- Provide light maintenance and domestic support, including cleaning, laundry, and cooking
- Assist with personal care needs, such as toileting and showering
- Work closely with residential managers to ensure operational compliance and deliver high-quality services
- Advocate for individuals served and demonstrate a commitment to the agency's mission and values
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in the substance abuse and mental health field preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed
