Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Psychologist to join our team at Connecticut Children's. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will provide a full range of clinical services to our patients and their families, including consultation, individual, group, and family therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Services: Provide direct clinical services to patients and families, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with multidisciplinary teams to optimize medical and psychological care, and collaborate with community agencies and mental health care providers to facilitate comprehensive services.
  • Teaching and Research: Participate in clinical research activities, including quality improvement initiatives, and provide supervision to pediatric psychology practicum students, pre-doctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise graduate psychology practicum students, pre-doctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows, as well as teach medical students and pediatric residents.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Doctoral degree in Psychology/Clinical Psychology/School Psychology/Counseling Psychology, completion of an APA-approved internship, and postdoctoral fellowship or one year of supervised experience in a treatment setting for children and adolescents.
  • Licensure and Certification: Licensure by the Connecticut State Department of Public Health as a Psychologist, and CPR certification within 60 days of hire and renewed every 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Skills: Theories, principles, techniques, and practices of psychotherapy and behavior change, human development, child and adolescent psychopathology and diagnosis, clinical and behavioral presentation of children with emotional disturbance and developmental disabilities, child care/child welfare agencies and continuum of care services.
  • Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills, mental health/psychosocial/psychological assessment skills, individual, group, and family psychotherapy skills, behavior modification and behavior assessment skills, consultation and teaming skills.
