About the Indiana State Park Inns:
The Indiana State Park Inns represent one of the oldest lodging systems within state parks across the nation. We proudly manage seven distinct and beautiful facilities throughout Indiana, offering guests a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty and tranquility of our state.

Located near Nashville, Indiana, Abe Martin Lodge is set in the scenic hills of Brown County State Park, the largest state park in Indiana. The lodge boasts 84 guest rooms, a delightful restaurant, cabins, an indoor water park, and over 6,000 square feet of banquet and conference space.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of all guest accommodations while upholding the hotel's standards. This position involves assisting and supervising housekeeping staff in their daily responsibilities and promptly reporting any issues to the housekeeping management team. Additionally, the role includes supporting housekeeping managers with various tasks related to housekeeping operations, guest services, and staff interactions.

Compensation:

The starting salary for this position is typically $16/hour, with potential adjustments based on experience.

Typical Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily inspections of all vacant rooms in assigned areas and perform spot checks on occupied rooms as necessary.
  • Ensure that all required amenities and linens are replenished daily in each guest room according to established standards.
  • Verify that guest rooms are cleaned to specifications and that daily cleaning tasks are completed as outlined by management.
  • Oversee the activities of housekeeping staff while on duty, reporting any concerns to the housekeeping manager without delay.
  • Assist housekeeping managers with administrative tasks and back-of-house operations, including lost and found, shipping, and daily office procedures.
  • Provide assistance in cleaning rooms or handling laundry as needed.
  • Support special projects as assigned, which may include organizing paperwork, creating lists, or other tasks designated by management.
  • All training for new room attendants will be conducted by a floor supervisor or designated trainer, with oversight from housekeeping managers.
  • Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor towards guests at all times.

  • Prior experience in hotel housekeeping management or supervision is highly preferred.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Uniforms may be provided by the Indiana State Park Inns.
  • Effective communication skills with both coworkers and guests are necessary to provide assistance as needed.
Supervisory Duties:This role may involve supervisory responsibilities depending on agency requirements.
