Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Primrose School of Yankee. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young minds to explore, discover, and understand the world around them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Leadership: You will be responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children, ensuring a safe and healthy environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Curriculum Implementation: You will implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming, assessing each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Communication and Collaboration: You will work closely with the Leadership Team to plan parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations, maintaining open and effective communication with parents and colleagues.
  • Classroom Environment: You will maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence, adhering to the guidelines outlined in the Primrose School of Yankee Employee Handbook.
  • Professional Development: You will attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: You must meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency, with a preference for previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program.
  • Skills and Qualifications: You must possess knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children, with the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
  • Certifications and Degrees: You must hold a 2-year degree in early childhood or a related field for Infant and Young Toddler teachers, and a 4-year degree in early childhood or a related field for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten teachers, with certification to teach in the state in which the school operates required for Kindergarten teachers.
