HireUp Talent is collaborating with a prominent engineering firm in the Panama City region to fill a CAD Designer role. This position requires onsite presence.

With over 70 years of industry leadership, our client offers a broad spectrum of engineering design and consulting services, including land development engineering, landscape architecture, ecological assessments, and construction oversight. Their unique blend of multi-disciplinary expertise and extensive experience enables them to support a wide array of residential and commercial projects, from initial site assessments to project completion. Their primary focus remains on providing consulting services for land developers and national homebuilders engaged in creating master-planned communities and various development projects.

The CAD Designer is responsible for utilizing advanced technology to produce detailed civil construction plans for a variety of land development initiatives across commercial, residential, and municipal sectors. These designs encompass site plans, utility layouts, grading, and stormwater management, guiding projects from conceptual stages through to final construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design comprehensive civil construction plans for diverse land development projects.
  • Analyze and design engineering systems pertinent to land development and utility services.
  • Generate calculations for site grading and utility establishment, translating these into actionable working drawings.
  • Employ software tools to create intricate 2D and 3D designs for complex projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to establish project timelines and budgets while addressing challenges effectively.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, standards, and advancements in software technology.
  • Evaluate situational data to devise innovative solutions.
  • Ensure the integrity of AutoCAD data files produced.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate's degree in CAD or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Technical certification in AutoCAD/Drafting is required.
  • Experience in Single Family, Family, and Master Planned Developments is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Prior experience in land development is essential.
  • Ability to establish and manage AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation in accordance with established standards with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surfaces, earthworks, profiles, and sections.
  • Competence in performing basic calculations (e.g., slopes, grades).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, facilitating effective communication across various teams and levels.
  • High attention to detail and a self-motivated approach with the capacity to manage multiple tasks.
