Special Education Teacher

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs? We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team at The Spire School, a therapeutic day school for Grades 8-12.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate teacher who can create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for our students. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and managing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student. You will work closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to ensure that every student feels supported and can thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement IEPs through creating and managing individualized education plans tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Monitor student progress through tracking and assessing student development, making necessary adjustments to keep them on the path to success.
- Responsible for managing challenging behaviors and implementing behavior support plans.
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to build a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
- Advocate for students ensuring compliance with educational laws and advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in special education, education or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Strong experience in creating, implementing, and managing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Possesses a collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for Special Education through patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed.
- Competitive salary range: $85,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year, depending on education and experience.
