Job Overview

Position: After School Assistant

The After School Assistant plays a vital role in fostering a supportive and secure educational atmosphere for students. This position involves overseeing children during unstructured periods, ensuring their safety and engagement. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director and Social Worker, the Assistant will be tasked with preparing materials and managing after school activities. The ideal candidate should have a passion for working with youth and uphold a respectful and dignified approach towards all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage free play during after school hours.
  • Collect and report data on student behavior and interactions.
  • Engage in proactive and professional communication regarding students with both educational and support staff, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Promote an inclusive environment in line with the school's values.
  • Conduct all duties with professionalism and integrity.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational, communication (especially with children), and problem-solving abilities.
  • Energetic, dedicated, reflective, and eager to learn and adapt.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 2:45 PM - 5:45 PM

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $30.00
