Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Laborer to join our Solid Waste & Recycling Department. As a Laborer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness of Greensboro by servicing trash and recycling containers, handling bulk items and yard waste, and ensuring customer locations are left clean and free of debris.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform duties of a solid waste helper under the direct supervision of an experienced Solid Waste & Recycling Operator
  • Service trash and recycling containers, handle bulk items and yard waste, and ensure customer locations are left clean and free of debris
  • Receive training on safely unloading materials at disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities and operating heavy-duty trucks used for waste collection
  • Coach on maneuvering vehicles in residential areas and high-traffic environments
  • Report unsafe situations or service-related issues, attend required training programs and meetings, and assist other drivers as needed
