Electrical Engineer II

Orbit Fab is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer II to join our team in Lafayette, Colorado. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and producing electrical avionics hardware to enable an on-orbit propellant supply for the 21st century of space innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Define, review, and critique engineering processes
  • Technical decision-making processes and technical development across various space systems disciplines
  • Guide electrical engineering designs and facilitate technical trades across the system
  • Identify technical issues and proactively implement resolutions to mitigate schedule and cost impacts
  • Design, test, and fly electrical and avionics systems across Orbit Fab's projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, physics, mathematics, or other related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in electronics design, development, or test across multiple projects/programs
  • Experience taking a product from concept phase through prototyping, production, and operation
  • Familiarity with key mission design, detailed analysis, and engineering management tools: Altium, LTSpice, JIRA or JIRA-like tools (Asana) and requirements tools like JAMA or Valispace
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters, Ph.D., or other advanced degree in engineering, physics, math, or related discipline
  • Experience with both low and high budget space system development
  • Experience or flight design heritage on LEO and/or GEO missions, especially radiation design of boards for these environments
  • Experience or flight design heritage with spacecraft and spacecraft subsystem design
