Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Additional hours may be required to achieve departmental goals.)
Role Overview:
Takes on a pivotal role in fostering new business within the brokerage, employee benefits, and insurance services offered through the independent broker dealer. This position also involves providing mentorship and training to junior officers, licensed assistants, and other bank staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Proactively engages with existing bank clients to develop and finalize brokerage service accounts through the internal referral program.
2. During client interactions, the Investment Advisor will articulate the bank's brokerage offerings, emphasizing the benefits of strategic financial planning while gathering essential information to provide informed financial advice.
3. Educate retail staff on the advantages and features of brokerage service products for their clientele.4. Equip team members with scripts and resources to facilitate referrals of existing bank clients to the Investment Advisor.
5. Organize and manage external business development initiatives such as seminars, mail campaigns, and special events.6. Maintain required licenses including Series 7, Series 66 (or 63 and 65), and PA Life, Accident, and Health Insurance.
7. Oversee and mentor fully licensed Sales Assistants within the Brokerage Services sector.
8. Build and sustain relationships with external referral partners such as accountants, attorneys, and social contacts.
9. Ensure the delivery of high-quality professional advice by fulfilling industry-mandated continuing education requirements.
10. Participate in community engagement activities to enhance the bank's reputation.
11. Foster positive working relationships with all bank personnel, demonstrating the ability to work autonomously while contributing to team success.
12. Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Operates a keypad device: 40% of the day; travels: 40% of the day. The primary body parts involved in these tasks include fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists, and elbows. Standing is required 10% of the day for branch training/customer meetings. Sitting is required 80% of the day for sales presentations and research. Walking is required 10% of the day. Routine lifting of 5 lbs., 2-3 times daily. Manual dexterity skills for typing and data entry are necessary for up to 40% of the workday. Specific vision requirements include close vision for computer work and travel. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Education:
A four-year college degree or equivalent is required.
Licensing Requirements:
FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) PA Life, Accident, and Health Insurance.
Experience:
A minimum of five to ten years of general and specialized experience, particularly in investment-related roles, along with ongoing education towards professional designations (e.g., CFP, ChFC, CW, CEBS, etc.).
