Job Summary

Promat Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Production & Continuous Improvement Manager to oversee the manufacturing and assembly operations. This key role will lead a team of 20+ employees, including Shift Leads, and be responsible for maintaining optimal workflow, ensuring product quality, and driving both operational efficiency and staff development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Oversight: Coordinate all phases of production to ensure high-quality products meet order requirements and stock levels. Monitor workflow, set processing variables, and address equipment malfunctions and process control issues.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Directly supervise production personnel, optimizing productivity, setting priorities, and designing efficient workflows. Mentor and train team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S improvement efforts. Analyze processes, develop enhancement strategies, and implement best practices to optimize production and operational efficiency.
  • Operational Coordination: Facilitate daily production meetings, prepare operational schedules, and manage manufacturing activities. Ensure components are available and resolve scheduling issues and production problems as they arise.
  • Quality and Safety: Maintain high standards of quality and safety by educating staff on procedures, enforcing organizational standards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks including report preparation, performance evaluations, employee scheduling, and documentation for HR-related matters. Analyze work output and report on production summaries.
  • Process Analysis: Investigate and address shortfalls, issues, and complaints within current business processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance productivity and staff satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a high-performance manufacturing or processing environment. Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement is highly valued.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, lean manufacturing, and 5S principles.
    • Proven track record of strategic thinking, effective communication, and conflict management.
    • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate teams while driving operational excellence.
    • Proficiency in analyzing and improving company processes and procedures.
    • Knowledge of SAP and ADP is a plus
  • Additional Requirements: Excellent English communication skills. A commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate manufacturing work areas. Minimal travel may be required.
