Position Overview:


The individual will be accountable for maintaining all safety protocols and operational practices to guarantee a secure working environment for all personnel within the organization. This role includes notifying management of any breaches in safety policies and practices.

The candidate will conduct thorough inspections, assessments, site visits, and audits to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and Common Operating Guidelines (COG).

Written reports will be prepared to address findings, with follow-up on action plans resulting from inspections, assessments, and audits.


Key Responsibilities:
Enforce the suspension of operations that may endanger employee health and safety.

Advise management on strategies to safeguard employees from potentially dangerous work methods, processes, or materials.

Investigate incidents and facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents, significant near-miss events, and safety concerns raised by staff to evaluate and identify underlying causes and preventive measures.

The role involves managing all documentation related to investigations and behavior justification models from RCA meetings.
Participate in and support behavior-based safety initiatives.
Assist operations in implementing the Safety Management System.

Evaluate workplace environments, equipment, practices, credentials, licenses, and permits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Ensure adherence to established procedures and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Provide support for safety meetings within operations.
Research and recommend safety equipment, programs, and procedures.
Maintain records of incidents and accidents along with other relevant documentation in line with safety policies and regulations.
Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and management of safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Offer guidance to management and employees regarding local, state, and federal regulations.
Attend contractor safety meetings to address safety issues and concerns.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A minimum of five years of experience in a safety-related role within the oil or heavy industry.
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
Familiarity with industry standards and recommended practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient in computer applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools.
Knowledge of industry safety training protocols (First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, etc.).

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
