About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Substitute Teacher to join our team at Upbring Head Start Preschool. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe and positive learning environment for children in the absence of the assigned Head Start or Early Head Start Teacher.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate classroom activities to ensure all children are provided a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Implement lesson plans and activities to meet the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of the children.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all children's records and adhere to agency and Head Start policies, procedures, and protocol.
  • Ensure all learning activities are facilitated using supporting materials that address the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of the children.
  • Adhere to agency and Head Start policies, procedures, and protocol as it relates to the health, safety, nutrition, and well-being of the children and the operation of the program.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation and state-mandated minimum insurance coverage on your vehicle.
  • Ability to build a positive rapport with children, parents/guardians, and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally, interact with all levels of management in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or closely related field.
  • 1 year of teaching experience with a Head Start or school readiness program(s).
  • Experience with inclusion of children with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of infant/toddler health and safety licensing requirements.
