About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Substitute Teacher to join our team at Upbring Head Start Preschool. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and positive learning environment for our children, ensuring their physical and cognitive growth and development in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly facilitate classroom activities to ensure all children are provided a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Prepare and implement lesson plans, adapting to the needs of individual children.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management to ensure seamless transitions and support.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure all children receive quality services and meet their individual needs.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation and state-mandated minimum insurance coverage.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  • 1 year of teaching experience with a Head Start or school readiness program.
  • Experience with inclusion of children with disabilities.
  • Bilingual (fluent Spanish written and conversational), highly preferred.
