Job Summary:

The College Aide position at West Covina Unified School District is an exciting opportunity for a part-time college student to gain valuable experience in a classroom setting. As an Instructional Support Associate, you will work under the supervision of a certificated teacher or classified supervisor to assist with various tasks and activities related to classroom instruction and student care.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a classroom, instructional setting, or in academic, personal, and/or interpersonal development, games, or instruction in related activities.
  • Assist with carrying out activities directly related to classroom instruction or the care of enrollees.
  • Work under the immediate supervision of the assigned supervisor(s).

Requirements:

  • Be a full-time college student.
  • Be able to perform the duties necessary to accomplish the planned tasks on a part-time work schedule basis.
  • Pass the District Instructional Aide Proficiency exam.
  • Provide evidence of high school graduation.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Complete a Mantoux Tuberculin Test within 60 days of hire date.
  • Undergo drug screening by a District-approved facility.
  • Obtain fingerprint clearance.
  • Complete Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Certification.
  • Complete Bloodborne Pathogens Safety Certification.
  • Complete Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
  • Complete School Bullying Certification.
  • Complete Anti-Harassment Training.
  • Complete Email and Messaging Safety.
  • Complete Cybersecurity Overview.
  • Complete Workplace Violence.
