Job Title: Mental Health Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Maxim Healthcare Services. As a Mental Health Technician, you will work with children and adults with developmental delays and challenging behaviors, providing one-to-one-behavior intervention services and assisting with daily program activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one-behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges
  • Assist with daily program activities in the areas of self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor, and behavior and crisis intervention
  • Assist clients with personal care activities, including bathing, oral hygiene, preparation and feeding of meals, dressing and undressing, ambulation, and other activities as needed
  • Implement and collect data on the behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience working in an educational or healthcare setting preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current PPD or Chest X-Ray (as applicable per state and/or client requirement)
  • At least one year of experience working with children/adults with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors
  • College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences, or related field preferred
