Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Job Summary:

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and self-contained classrooms.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess students' abilities and progress through formal and informal assessments.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to accommodate the unique learning styles and needs of students.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEP goals, and services provided.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-based meetings.
  • Provide behavior management support and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as needed.
  • Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in special education through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • State certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher in Georgia.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with special needs.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and team members.
  • Proficiency in creating and implementing IEPs and BIPs.
  • Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with industry trends.
