Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at West Fraser, Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our lumber manufacturing process equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial process equipment
  • Complete daily runtime predictive routes via predictive tools
  • Recognize and document potential job hazards in compliance with company policies
  • Work as a team to achieve safety, electrical, production, and quality goals

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years' industrial electrical/controls experience
  • Experience reading and understanding schematics, technical documents, and blueprints
  • Ability to wire, test, and troubleshoot control panels integrated with PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives, and other Solid-state control devices
  • Ability to interpret control wiring schemes within an Industrial plant environment
  • Experience utilizing electrical troubleshooting equipment and tools
  • Experience using a computer to perform tasks such as email, data entry, and document creation
  • Willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
  • Willing and able to climb stairs, ladders, or work in elevated areas
  • Willing to work in confined areas
  • Experience working within the company and state environmental and safety policies/procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently holding an electrician license
  • Experience with PLC, LADDER LOGIC, HMI, PANELVIEW, AND NFPA 70E
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Associate Degree in Instrument or Electrical/Electronic Technology with a minimum of 3 years related experience to the lumber manufacturing process
  • Experienced in thermography with level 1 certification
