Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team at Parker Unified School District. As a key member of our special education team, you will work closely with our Speech & Language Pathologist to provide diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, screen, and evaluate students to identify speech and language needs, and share results with parents and educational staff.
  • Develop and implement individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with Speech/Language impairment, and assist with IEPs for students with speech/language as a service.
  • Comply with all Medicaid requirements for school-based claiming, including obtaining written Medicaid consent from parents and timely filing of claims.
  • Provide consultative services for school staff, sharing and demonstrating specific techniques to facilitate relevant and consistent interventions for targeted students.
  • Maintain records and information concerning individual students in a confidential manner, using records and information only for the purposes for which they are maintained.
  • Provide direct and consultative therapeutic services related to expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language.
  • Communicate and collaborate with parents and the school community to foster individual student success and growth.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships with administrative and school staff.
  • Participate in various meetings to address student goals and needs, and to meet laws and policies.
  • Maintain and submit information/records, including student progress for all students.
Requirements
  • Arizona Teacher Certification and highly qualified status for the content area.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of the District's Speech & Language Pathologist.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
