About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Lactation Consultant to join our team at Cone Health. As a lactation coach, consultant, and teacher, you will work collaboratively with staff and providers to develop feeding plans for newborns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Women's and Infant's services professionals to develop evidence-based feeding plans using current lactation theories and research.
  • Conduct breast feeding assessments and implement breast feeding plans with the support of hospital staff.
  • Provide lactation support and consultation services to breast feeding mothers and infants.
  • Develop and implement patient education resources and programs to improve their effectiveness.
  • Lead evidence-based breast-feeding classes and breast-feeding support groups.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • 1 year of experience
  • Certification by International Board of Lactation Consultation Examiners (IBLCE)
  • BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
