The Applebrook Inn Veterinary Center and Pet Resort is a comprehensive veterinary facility that provides an array of services for pets, including preventative care, dental procedures, orthopedic and routine surgeries, as well as daycare, grooming, training, and boarding options. Our commitment is to exceed the expectations of our clients and their beloved pets. Our team comprises Certified Veterinary Technicians and proficient Veterinary Assistants.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess animal needs through history intake, reviewing care plans and medical records, conducting laboratory tests, and performing diagnostic imaging.
  • Administer care to patients by monitoring vital signs, collecting samples, providing medications, and managing wound care.
  • Assist in patient examinations and surgical procedures by preparing necessary supplies, escorting patients to examination areas, and ensuring proper restraint.
  • Process prescriptions and manage medication administration, ensuring accurate documentation and security of controlled substances.
  • Uphold a safe and humane environment by adhering to established standards and legal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate medical records by documenting patient conditions, responses, and updates in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in procedures such as catheter placement, phlebotomy, emergency care, and digital radiography.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in veterinary settings performing the aforementioned duties.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, cleaning, and maintaining constant activity.
  • Comfortable working with sick animals and potentially hazardous materials, including cleaning agents and anesthetics.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
