Job Overview

We are seeking to recruit skilled CNC Machining Specialists to join our team at 5280 Staffing Solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in the setup and/or programming of CNC machinery.

As a CNC Machining Specialist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various machine tools as assigned, while interpreting mechanical drawings and other instructions to ascertain operational methods and sequences.

Shift Details:

2nd Shift: 2:45 pm – 1:15 am / Monday to Thursday (30-minute unpaid meal break)

Compensation: $18 - $29 (Dependent on Experience)

Requirements: Reliable transportation, a clean background for the past 7 years, and the ability to pass a drug screening.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and comprehend basic blueprints and mechanical drawings to determine specifications and sequences necessary for product manufacturing.
  • Adhere to verbal and written instructions, seeking clarification when needed.
  • Set up and operate mills and lathes as assigned, including multiple spindle and turret CNC machines.
  • Utilize machinery in the fabrication area, including presses, notchers, lasers, and benders.
  • Measure and calculate dimensions of finished products or workpieces to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Provide instructions and support to fellow machine operators.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficient in operating CNC and manual lathes, CNC and manual mills, drill presses, saws, and other related machinery.
  • Capable of following and validating specifications on process sheets or work orders, selecting necessary tools and equipment, and making modifications as required.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively, stand for extended periods, and perform continuous bending and reaching for up to 10 hours a day.
  • Prioritize the physical safety of oneself and colleagues at all times, adhering to all safety guidelines and instructions for the operation and maintenance of machines.
  • Competent in using Windows-based PCs and Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Basic understanding of key production processes (e.g., turning, milling, drilling), including the operation of multiple spindle and turret CNC machines.
  • Provide guidance and support to machine operators, demonstrating skills through clear explanations when necessary.
  • Familiarity with Mastercam software is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform CNC programming, including G-code.
