Position Summary

A Construction CDL Truck Driver is a vital role that involves operating dump trucks and/or water trucks with various trailer configurations to transport soil, water, gravel, and other materials to and from diverse job sites efficiently. This position may also require performing a range of tasks, adapting to the workflow as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and standards.
  • Operate trucks safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate logs of time and materials.
  • Verify materials being transported and ensure compliance with weight limits.
  • Ensure proper loading of materials onto trucks and trailers.
  • Follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Exhibit proficient maneuvering and backing skills.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Maintain vehicle safety through daily inspections of tires, lights, signals, and fluids.
  • Observe all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Prepare the vehicle for the next day’s operations, including refueling.
  • Maintain awareness of personal safety and the safety of coworkers.
  • Transport various construction materials to job sites as directed.
  • Operate dump trucks with different trailer types, including side-dumps, end-dumps, pup, and flatbed trailers.
  • Ensure trailer cleanliness to prevent material contamination.
  • Adapt to changes in schedule, location, and shift times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; vocational training is highly regarded.
  • Preferred candidates will have relevant educational or work-related credentials.
  • Must possess a Class A CDL.
  • Valid Medical Card as per DOT standards is required.
  • A clean driving record is essential.
  • Compliance with all DOT regulations for commercial vehicle operations.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work is necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments.
  • Ability to engage in strenuous physical activities.
