Position Summary

A Construction CDL Truck Driver is a vital role responsible for operating dump trucks and/or water trucks with various trailer configurations to transport soil, water, gravel, and other materials efficiently between job sites. This role may also involve a variety of tasks, adapting to the workflow as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Operate trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate logs of time and materials.
  • Verify materials being transported and ensure compliance with weight restrictions.
  • Ensure proper loading of materials onto trucks and trailers.
  • Follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Exhibit strong maneuvering and backing skills.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Maintain vehicle safety through daily inspections of tires, lights, signals, and fluids.
  • Observe all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Prepare the vehicle for the next day’s operations, including refueling.
  • Maintain awareness of personal safety and the safety of coworkers.
  • Transport various construction materials to designated job sites as directed.
  • Operate dump trucks with various trailer types, including side-dumps, end-dumps, pup, and flatbed trailers.
  • Ensure trailer cleanliness to prevent material contamination.
  • Adapt to changes in schedule, location, and shift timings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; vocational training is a plus.
  • Preference for candidates with relevant educational credentials.
  • Possession of a Class A CDL is required.
  • A valid Medical Card per DOT standards is necessary.
  • A clean driving record is essential.
  • Compliance with all DOT regulations for commercial vehicle operations.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments.
  • Ability to engage in strenuous physical activities.
