This position offers a competitive salary of $ $70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. The location is based in Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and Eastern Dakotas.

Job Summary:

  • As a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will diagnose and repair various heavy to medium-sized construction equipment.
  • This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

About the Role:

  1. Key Responsibilities:
    1. Operate and inspect all construction equipment and components to determine needed repairs.
    2. Discuss equipment problems with supervisor and/or others as needed.
    3. Repair, replace, calibrate, adjust and/or rebuild components.
    4. Test repaired equipment for proper operation.
    5. Inspect, add and/or change fluids and lubricants; check and replace worn parts and perform other routine service and maintenance.
    6. Complete all required welding and fabrication work, as needed.
    7. Read equipment manuals, service bulletins and other resources; attend training sessions.
    8. Maintain and update knowledge of equipment to be serviced.
    9. Assist with ordering parts, materials and supplies needed for repair and maintenance.
    10. Record work performed, time and materials used for each job; complete timecards, and maintain related work logs and records.
    11. Operate a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, motor vehicles and heavy equipment and perform related duties as assigned by the Shop Manager.
    12. Maintain orderliness, cleanliness and safety.
    13. Perform the above duties following the procedures developed by management (TPR, B2W Maintain, etc)
  2. Requirements:
    1. A 2-year AAS degree in Diesel Technology or combination of training and experience is required.
    2. Previous mechanical experience on heavy equipment, including asphalt plant equipment is preferred.
    3. Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills are essential.
    4. A Class A Commercial Driver's License is preferred.
    5. Understanding and adherence to all safety regulations are necessary.
    6. An unwavering focus on safety is vital.
    7. MSHA | OSHA certifications are an advantage.
    8. Willingsness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa and Eastern Dakotas is required.
  3. Work Environment/Physical Demands:
    1. Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
    2. Work outside in all weather conditions.
    3. Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
    4. Regularly work extended | overtime hours, outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions at all project locations.
    5. Travel is required.
