POSITION SUMMARY

The Client Support Specialist collaborates closely with families and members of the Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains (LFSRM) team to empower clients in achieving stability and self-sufficiency by connecting them with essential resources and guiding them through their new environment. This role addresses immediate basic needs throughout the entire service duration and works in partnership with clients and other LFSRM team members to facilitate the attainment of both short-term and long-term objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as an advocate and resource for clients, ensuring equitable treatment for all client demographics in alignment with the agency's commitment to human dignity.
  • Prepares for the arrival of refugees by ensuring housing arrangements are in place and coordinating with the pre-arrival team. Welcomes clients at the airport and facilitates their transportation to housing.
  • Collaborates with other LFSRM team members to assist clients in applying for public assistance, enrolling children in educational institutions, obtaining identification documents, and accessing other necessary services and referrals.
  • Conducts individual and group educational workshops focused on essential life skills, such as public transportation usage and managing family finances.
  • Works in tandem with LFSRM colleagues to coordinate logistics for various appointments, including benefit interviews and health consultations. Arranges transportation for clients to appointments as needed and secures interpreter services to ensure culturally and linguistically appropriate service delivery.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with clients to provide necessary support and evaluate client progress throughout the service period. Offers resources and referrals to community partners.
  • Keeps detailed case notes of all client interactions and documents all services provided in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring high-quality case file documentation.
  • Provides necessary data for various reports and submits all required documentation punctually and accurately.
  • Serves as a liaison with community partners regarding refugee resettlement inquiries, fostering mutual understanding between the community and clients.
  • Coordinates services with other key personnel to ensure comprehensive support for refugees. Actively participates in staff meetings and local refugee-serving networks.
  • Engages in community outreach initiatives that promote the mission and objectives of the Refugee and Asylee Programs.
  • Adheres to high standards of service delivery as outlined by Lutheran Family Services, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, and relevant state and federal guidelines.
  • Complies with all applicable federal, state, county, local, and LFSRM contractual obligations.
  • Demonstrates an organized and proactive approach to client services, program reporting, and communication with agency staff.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and provide proof of auto liability insurance at the required levels.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree or two years of college education; or two years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
