Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Specialist to join our team at Ventura Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, processing tanks, and vats to maintain a high level of quality and safety.
  • Assist with daily operational production efficiency and sanitation duties, including cleaning floors, transporting trash, and maintaining sanitation-related equipment.
  • Participate in the training of new hires and transfers, ensuring a smooth onboarding process and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Comply with all GMP, Safety Procedures, Company Policies, Quality Policies, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points as they apply to this position.
  • Operate forklifts or hand lifts to transport materials as needed, demonstrating a strong understanding of safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Prior sanitation experience is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good reading and math skills to accurately perform job requirements.
  • Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Demands

This role requires regular intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity are necessary to perform the required tasks. Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds or more with assistance may be required.

Work Environment

This position may require work outside and in adverse temperatures, including extreme hot, cold, and humidity. You may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. You must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.
