Key Responsibilities:
The Registered Dietitian will:
- Deliver comprehensive nutrition services based on evidence-based clinical standards to evaluate complex nutritional needs of patients.
- Identify at-risk patients and provide appropriate treatment and therapy through coordinated medical nutrition support.
- Establish operational standards and develop tools to promote optimal nutrition intake, enhancing treatment tolerance and quality of life.
- Collaborate with the medical and interdisciplinary healthcare team to align nutrition support and management goals.
- Utilize information systems effectively to coordinate patient care.
- Educate and counsel patients, families, and caregivers as part of the holistic care approach.
- Stay updated on the latest nutrition-related research, policies, certifications, and standards of practice.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or a related field (required)
- Master's Degree in nutrition/dietetics, public health, or education (preferred)
- Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible for registration (required)
- Licensure by the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification for Dietitians (required)
Experience:
- Minimum one year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in a critical care environment (preferred)
- Experience in community and/or outpatient nutrition therapy (preferred for outpatient roles)
Certifications:
Specialist or advanced practice certification from recognized bodies such as the Commission on Dietetic Registration or the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (preferred).
