Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrician-Trainee to join our team at the City of Panama City, FL. As an Electrician-Trainee, you will assist experienced electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power, lighting, HVAC, and communication systems in our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in wiring and installation of electrical equipment and fixtures, such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, controllers, light fixtures, and breaker boxes, in compliance with blueprints, schematic drawings, and sketches.
  • Install wiring and fixtures conforming to local electrical codes.
  • Follow verbal, written, and digital instructions.
  • Use test equipment regularly, such as a voltmeter and ohmmeter.
  • Use hand tools of the electrical trade, power tools, a ditch witch, a bucket truck, and chainsaws.
  • Work under adverse conditions, including heat, cold, inclement weather, and be able to perform manual-type labor, such as digging and heavy lifting.
  • Work at heights well above ground level from/out of various types of equipment.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma.
  • Florida Class B CDL License, with air brake endorsement, or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.
  • Comparable amount of training and/or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
