Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for performing essential upkeep and repairs throughout the resort. Your primary focus will be on preventive maintenance in guest accommodations, public spaces, and front-of-house areas as designated. You will be assigned specific tasks based on your skills, experience, and the needs of the business, while maintaining accurate records of your work.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct regularly scheduled preventive maintenance activities across the property, including guest rooms, grounds, public areas, and meeting spaces. This includes minor repairs and painting tasks. Address basic maintenance and repairs as assigned, based on your capabilities and training. Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or management to ensure guest satisfaction.
  2. Handle guest complaints within your authority; otherwise, refer them to management. Report any unusual incidents, missing items, or theft to your supervisor and/or Security. Respond to service and repair requests as assigned.
  3. Utilize computer systems to receive work orders and document completed tasks, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and ensure all equipment used is well-maintained and organized.
  5. Inspect, maintain, repair, and replace various components throughout the property, including machinery, drains, light bulbs, and filters.
  6. Wear appropriate non-slip, oil-resistant footwear and adhere to all safety protocols. Report any potential safety hazards to management and take immediate action in emergencies. Comply with OSHA regulations regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain familiarity with the hotel's Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program.
  7. Consistently report to work as scheduled, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in emergency situations to ensure operational support areas are effectively managed for optimal customer service.
  2. Collaborate with fellow engineers on maintenance and repair tasks as necessary.
  3. Identify required parts, supplies, tools, and materials to minimize downtime.
  4. Notify management of significant system or building issues and unexpected maintenance requirements.
Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:
  1. Basic knowledge of technical disciplines such as carpentry, painting, and electrical work.
  2. Six months of relevant experience is preferred.
  3. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  4. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  5. Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with property management systems.
  6. Completion of required training as scheduled.
  7. Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions, both written and verbal.
  8. Capability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  9. Flexibility to work varying schedules, including holidays and weekends, in response to the hotel's operational needs.
  10. Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of various tools and equipment used in hotel maintenance.
  11. Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.
