Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Underwriter Med-Mal Specialist to lead our new Allied Healthcare group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing and expanding our underwriting group, developing and maintaining a book of business, and identifying and targeting new business opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and expand an underwriting group focused on a book of business including physicians, hospitals, medical spas, surgery centers, pharmacies, home healthcare, medical imaging labs, walk-in clinical laboratories, hospice care facilities, and individuals involved in therapy.
  • Develop, maintain, manage, and grow a book of business.
  • Identify, target, solicit, and negotiate new business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers in the region.
  • Grow the underwriting group and expand it into a profitable division.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in medical malpractice or allied healthcare.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
