Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Underwriter Med-Mal Specialist to lead our new Allied Healthcare group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing and expanding our underwriting group, developing and maintaining a book of business, and identifying and targeting new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:- Establish and expand an underwriting group focused on a book of business including physicians, hospitals, medical spas, surgery centers, pharmacies, home healthcare, medical imaging labs, walk-in clinical laboratories, hospice care facilities, and individuals involved in therapy.
- Develop, maintain, manage, and grow a book of business.
- Identify, target, solicit, and negotiate new business opportunities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers in the region.
- Grow the underwriting group and expand it into a profitable division.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in medical malpractice or allied healthcare.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
