Job Summary

The Event Sous Chef position at Meadowbrook Inn is a key role in our culinary team, responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in preparing meals for group events. This position requires excellent interpersonal communication skills and friendly professionalism while attending to guest requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare all menu food items according to standard recipes and as specified to ensure consistency of product.
  • Prep items as directed, maintaining a high level of quality and presentation.
  • Check and control the proper storage, cutting, portion control, and quality of products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation for work areas to comply with Health Department regulations and hotel standards.
  • Thoroughly clean work area at end of shift.
  • Display awareness and compliance with hotel's security, safety, emergency, and energy procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly and accurately to guest requests.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to provide an excellent level of customer service, even in stressful situations.
  • Willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, and on weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Able to climb ladders.
  • Able to climb stairs.
  • Able to walk hallways and perimeter of property.
  • Able to twist, bend, reach, and pull.
