Job Title: Vision Care Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Vision Care Assistant to become a part of our healthcare team. In this role, you will support the Optometrist in delivering outstanding eye care services to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer initial eye assessments and evaluations, including tests for visual clarity, depth perception, and color discrimination.
  • Prepare patients for eye examinations by clarifying procedures and addressing any inquiries they may have.
  • Assist the Optometrist during eye assessments, which includes measuring and documenting ocular metrics, evaluating ocular muscle function, and assessing overall eye health.
  • Instruct patients on the proper techniques for contact lens application, removal, and maintenance.
  • Ensure meticulous and accurate patient documentation is maintained.
  • Sanitize and upkeep the equipment and tools utilized in eye examinations.
  • Manage the ordering and inventory of necessary supplies and materials.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ocular anatomy, physiology, and prevalent eye conditions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic environment while managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong focus on detail and precision.
  • Basic computer proficiency is essential.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED is mandatory; an Associate's Degree is preferred. Experience in the optical sector and patient navigation is beneficial.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual proficiency (Vietnamese, Chinese, Burmese, Arabic, and/or Spanish alongside English) is required.
  • Strong language skills, public speaking, and writing capabilities.
  • Possession of reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
