We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our Neurology Clinic team at Duke Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support our medical staff in delivering exceptional patient experiences.
Responsibilities- Assist medical and nursing staff with patient care, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Perform routine administrative and patient care supportive duties, such as answering telephones, updating and filing patient medical records, and scheduling appointments.
- Collaborate with our team to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic, including handling billing and bookkeeping, and arranging for laboratory services and hospital admissions.
- Provide excellent customer service and promote patient/family understanding of the educational content and their involvement in the plan of care.
- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting required for Level II and III.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
