Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary:
Phaxis is seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and reassessments of students' functional, behavioral, and emotional needs. You will develop, implement, and support data collection systems for students across academic, community, and campus life areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments and reassessments of students' functional, behavioral, and emotional needs.
2. Develop, implement, and support data collection systems for students across academic, community, and campus life areas.
3. Analyze data and progress of students regarding their ongoing functional, behavioral, and emotional needs.
4. Utilize a variety of treatment approaches that are safe, creative, and individualized to a particular student's needs.
5. Collaborate, develop, and implement behavior support plans (BIP, ISP, others) to support implementation and improve behavioral outcomes for students.
6. Work with students in their environment, requiring flexible clinical processes and scheduling, including 'after hours' and occasional weekend availability.
7. Provide crisis management and classroom push-in/pull-out support as necessary.
8. Collaborate with clinicians and members of the organization's Education and Campus Life teams to ensure that each student's progress is holistic, integrated, and takes into account each student's ITEP goals, progress, and developmental needs.
9. Maintain open lines of communication with care providers, students, and family members to effectively address student progress, development, and emergencies.
10. Maintain appropriate records and reports as required.
Requirements:
NYS License
Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work (required)
2+ years' experience in conducting Mental Health/Behavioral Assessments
Experience working with children with developmental disabilities or on the Autistic Spectrum strongly preferred
